Now, like most people I'm in 2 minds, on the one hand, you find powerful men tend to abuse that power and think it entitles them to anything, including non consensual sex, but on the other hand, I wouldn't put it past his opposition in the French government to have paid the chambermaid to make false allegations.

But this is by the by, my outrage is at this even being reported in the first place. It sends me into a rage when this happens, as, just being accused of such a thing send the 'there's no smoke without fire' camp into a tailspin.

The law needs to be changed so people aren't named UNTIL they are found guilty in a court of law!

Naming these people publicly, ruins lives, like that bloke who was questioned over Madelaine McCann, I just think it's so, so wrong!

I agree about the anonymity, ask Colin Stagg. This one is a weird story x

One of those ones where it's hard always to pick a side for me.  I agree strongly in anonymity when you think of someone like Paul Weller or the aforementioned Mr Stagg.  Then on the other hand you realise that lots of people have been victims of crime but for whatever reason - shame and shock in the case of rape for example, where this most often comes up - and the fact that other victims come forward makes them feel emboldened to come forward.

On balance I think keeping the IDs of the accused private is a good thing - coupled with a large drive, a significant amount of publicity, to get people to come forward.  Even if they are sat at home thinking there is no prospect of the particular crime visited upon them getting a conviction.  At least it's on the record then.

Yeah I think they should be anonymous until after any court case, if it was someone famous like Kahn, it would be reported even if found guilty and then others would come forward.

I just think it's wrong, this man's life is in ruins and nothings even been proven in a court of law yet.
